I believe that dog training should be humane, effective and easy for everyone! I never use any aversive or harmful training methods such as choke chains and shock collars. I believe these methods are not only harmful to the dog’s well-being but also to the relationship between dog and owner. Positive training techniques are easier and more effective than those outdated ways of training so why not train the fun and easy way!
I use positive reinforcement training which rewards dog’s good behavior with things dogs want (and things we give to them anyway!) like food, attention and praise. When a dog is rewarded for good behavior, the desirable behavior happens more and more often. I will teach you how to get those good behaviors to happen so we can start the rewarding! I will also teach you how to handle “bad” behaviors in a humane way so the “bad” behavior turns into “good” behavior! Check out my Private Instruction page or my Group Classes page for details on some of the behavioral issues and training topics we can work on with your dog.
I became a trainer with the hopes of helping others to have the same deeply bonded relationship that I have with my dogs, thereby keeping dogs from shifting to multiple homes or ending up in the shelter. My personal goal in training is to create a lifetime relationship between owner and dog based on respect and understanding.
