Private Instruction: In-Home Behavior Consultations
Private lessons are available for dogs and puppies of any age. Your dog’s home environment is an excellent place for learning since distractions and stress will be less likely to interfere with training.
- Lessons can cover such topics as: House training, how dogs learn, crate training, body handling, self-control, confidence building, toys & games, and food handling.
- Behavioral issues: destructive behavior, barking, digging, separation anxiety, resource guarding, aggression, and fearfullness.
- Basic commands: sit, down, stay, come, off, quiet, wait, drop it, go to your bed, and leave it (to name a few!).
- Dog manners: food stealing & counter surfing, jumping up, door & car manners, walking on leash, and acceptable attention seeking behaviors.
- Fun tricks: shake, roll-over, back it up, spin, bow, hula hoop jumping, and the “leave your treat on your paw” trick.
- Puppy Right Start: Get your puppy off on the right foot by being fully prepared. You might even want a consultation before your puppy arrives home so you will be ready for success with housetraining, chewing and all those other puppy challenges!
- New Dog Selection: Thinking about getting a dog but you’re not sure which one will fit in best with your family? Selecting the right breed (or mixed breed) and personality of your new dog is a critical first step in creating a bond that will last a lifetime, so be sure you do it right.
(Also - learn what to look for in a reputable breeder, the problems you may face with “pet store” dogs, or how a shelter/rescue dog can be a wonderful addition to your family. Please see The Humane Society of the United States for more info on these topics as well.)
Private lessons are held in your home, and I travel anywhere in the greater Salt Lake area including Draper, Sandy, Cottonwood, Holladay, Sugarhouse, Murray, Midvale, West Jordan, Riverton, West Valley, Downtown, Avenues, etc. (A $10 to $30 travel fee may apply to some areas more than 10 miles from my home in Cottonwood.)
Rates: $75 per hour
